Why Is My Instagram Downloader Not Working?
A downloader can fail even when a post is public. Check the URL, access conditions, result expiry, file limits and rate limits. A login wall seen on one network does not prove that the account itself is private.
Find the stage that failed
The first Download button looks up your link. A Download button beside a result prepares that particular file. Check which step failed before starting again.
| What you see | What to do | What to check next |
|---|---|---|
| The link is rejected | Copy the full HTTPS Instagram post or Reel link, not a screenshot, caption or downloader result link. | A single-post link contains /p/ or /reel/. Try the post link rather than the whole profile. |
| No results or temporarily unavailable | Open the original post normally to check that it still exists and that you are authorized to save it. Wait before one later attempt. | A temporary error does not prove the owner made the account private. Do not provide cookies or passwords. |
| Results appear, but one file fails | Select that item and try its Download button once. If the result is old, submit the original post again. | A successful preview does not prove the full file can be retrieved; they are separate requests. |
| The result or download has expired | Submit the original post link again and use the newly returned result. | Results last up to 15 minutes; generated download links last up to 30 minutes. An old tab does not renew them. |
| The file is too large | Choose a smaller available quality. For a large carousel, save items individually. | Each file is limited to 100 MiB; Download all is limited to 200 MiB combined. Individual saving does not bypass the per-file limit. |
| Too many requests | Stop submitting and wait before retrying. | Repeated taps can create more requests; changing accounts or sessions is not a repair. |
Example: a preview works but the download fails
Suppose a carousel shows three previews, but the second item fails to download. Keep the working files and retry only the second item. If the result has expired, submit the post again, select the same position, and check the new file. Do not rename a downloaded cover image to .mp4.
The request succeeds, but you cannot find the file
Check the browser download list and the device Downloads folder. A browser may ask permission to save several files. A completed request is different from importing the file into a photo library. Open the saved file and check its type, picture and sound.
Report a reproducible problem
Include the date, approximate time and timezone, browser/device, the step that failed and the exact visible message. A cropped screenshot can help. Keep passwords, cookies, session IDs and temporary download links out of the report.
