What Is a 4K Stogram Alternative for Saving Instagram Posts?

By DownSta · Updated October 29, 2026.

DownSta can replace the single-post part of a 4K Stogram workflow: paste a public Instagram link in your browser and save the photos or videos you need. The bigger difference is that Stogram was a desktop application, while DownSta works one link at a time. 4K Download has now discontinued Stogram support and updates.

What does Stogram being discontinued mean?

4K Download says the existing application can still be used, but it will not receive updates, fixes or support. Existing premium licence holders keep access to those features; new premium licences are no longer sold. That makes it sensible to plan how you will save new material without relying on future Stogram fixes.

Your first step does not need to involve a new downloader. Find the photos and videos you already saved, copy them to a backup location and open a few files directly. Keep that collection intact while deciding what you need next.

When is DownSta a suitable alternative?

DownSta fits when you want a particular post, Reel, Story or Highlight. You bring its public link, review the media and save the files to your device. There is no desktop application to set up, so you can use the same website on a computer or phone.

If you used Stogram as an ongoing account archive, divide the job into two parts: preserve the collection you already have, then choose how to collect new files. DownSta can handle selected public links. It does not import a Stogram database or carry over its subscriptions.

For a broader backup of your own account, Instagram's official export is worth considering. Our data export guide explains the settings, contents and file checks, so you can compare an export with your existing collection.

Saving a new post with DownSta

  1. Open the public Instagram post or Reel and copy its link.
  2. Paste it into DownSta and press Download.
  3. Review the photos and videos, choose an available quality and save the files.

For a multi-item post, you can save selected items or use Download all for the returned set. Put the files in a separate folder at first, so it is easy to distinguish the new downloads from the older Stogram archive.

Choose this approach when you need occasional downloads in a browser. If your main goal is a complete personal archive, start with your existing originals and Instagram's export rather than assuming a one-post download covers your whole account.
