How Do I Save Instagram Videos or Reels on iPhone or Android?
Copy the link of a Reel you own or may save, open DownSta in your browser, and submit it. Select the video result and download the MP4. The file first belongs to your browser’s download folder; saving it to Photos or a gallery is a separate step.

1. Start with the Reel link
Open the individual Reel and use its share menu to copy the link. A Reel address contains /reel/; a profile address points to an account, not the video you selected. Paste the complete address into DownSta. On the homepage the submit button says Download; on the dedicated tool pages it says Download. For a video published as a normal post, use its individual /p/ link instead.
2. Read the result before saving
Check that the result is labelled Video and that the offered format is MP4. A video can display a still thumbnail while remaining a video result. Choose an available quality, then use the result’s Download button. A thumbnail alone is not evidence that a returned JPG contains the video.
3. Find it on iPhone
In Safari, open the Downloads control, or open Files → Browse → iCloud Drive → Downloads. If Safari uses local storage, check On My iPhone → Downloads instead. Open the MP4. To put a compatible video in Photos, use its share sheet and Save Video when that action is offered. Downloading a file does not automatically add it to Photos.
4. Find it on Android
Open your browser’s menu and choose Downloads. You can also search the Files app’s Downloads folder. If the video opens there but is absent from Gallery, the download succeeded: the gallery’s indexing or folder settings are a separate issue. Keep the original file rather than recording the preview.
Check the video you saved
Open the downloaded MP4 and play it before closing the page. Its cover image is not a reliable way to judge the picture or sound. If the video plays in Files but does not appear in Photos, the remaining step is saving it to your photo library, rather than downloading it again.
